Shane Petrie

Certified Trainer / Instructor / Nutrition Coach. Shane is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and a certified nutrition coach through Precision Nutrition.

Shane was not always fitness-minded, but after he reclaimed his own health a few years ago and rebuilt his strength and confidence, he felt inspired. In the process of healing his own body (both inside and out), he realized his deep passion for helping others, and decided to pursue a career in health and fitness. Shane worked as a physical therapy aide for nearly a year, and decided to become a personal trainer so he could give better and more personalized care to those transitioning from injury rehab to lifelong health.

Shane is dedicated to making positive change in people’s lives: “I want to be a force of good in this world; to make people feel better about themselves and who they are. Not just aesthetically, but for who they are the inside as a person.”

PHILOSOPHY
With enough energy and dedication, anything is possible. We’re capable of FAR more than any of us know, and that level capability can only be measured when we push ourselves.

WHAT TYPES OF CLIENTS DO YOU WORK WITH?
I have strong background working with injuries, so I’m very comfortable working clients who are recovering, or adapting a program to work with disabilities. Because I also work with many weight loss clients, I pursued my nutrition certificate so I can help them reach their goals and maintain for life!

WHAT MAKES YOUR TRAINING UNIQUE?
I believe there’s a lot to learn from different training styles out there, so I like to incorporate a variety of disciplines in my sessions to keep things fun, interesting and effective for my clients. I’ve learned so much from my experience in physical therapy, yoga, kickboxing, weight training, etc., and it allows me to really be creative and find the best workouts for each individual.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Helping a client achieve a goal that makes them feel good about themselves is the best feeling in the world. Whether their goal is to lose five pounds, do a single pull up, or outrun their kids, I love the process of getting them there. Seeing that light in a client’s eyes when they accomplish their goals makes me LOVE this job.
