Certified Personal Trainer / Yoga Instructor (RYT-200). Samantha is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), a certified group fitness instructor from the American Council on Exercise (ACE), a registered yoga teacher through YogaFit (with specialties in back care, meditation, breathing, and working with chakras). She also holds specialty certification in TRX Suspension Training, Gravity Group (Total Gym) training, and Step instruction.
Originally from Seattle, WA, Samantha had her first experience with yoga and “working out” in high school, but she didn’t resonate with the benefits until college, where she later started her 200hr yoga training and teaching group fitness classes. After graduating with a degree in Genetics/Cell Biology, Samantha moved to Long Beach to enjoy a “sun-filled” life by the ocean. While exploring her career options, she worked full time as a physical therapy aide in a clinic for three and a half years, and this ignited a passion for helping people regain their strength and eliminate pain. However, as valuable as the experience was, she decided to make a shift more towards “preventative medicine.” Samantha feels that with personal training she can not only help those in need of strength increase and pain reduction, but also help those with the mindset of “fixing things before they go wrong,” which she finds extremely valuable. Having taught many different types of people at different ages, she has come to appreciate teaching any form of exercise that is designed to fit “every body,” where they are that day. Her passion for training is contributed to her belief that exercise can be accessible to everybody.
Exercise is a way for us to give back to our bodies. Our bodies do so much for us all day long, and when we exercise, we are able to give them the movements they need and desire, thus creating balance. Favorite quote: “Yoga is the counter pose for life.”
